In 2000, the New Balance Foundation was introduced to Camp Sunshine as a sponsor of the Miracle Marathon. A relay run up the East Coast from St. Mary’s Hospital in Florida to Camp Sunshine in Maine

The New Balance Foundation would then become a major sponsor of the Moonlight Charity Ski Challenge before reallocating their support to directly fund families attending Camp Sunshine.

A decade after they began their support, the New Balance Foundation committed to a $250,000 matching challenge as part of Camp Sunshine’s Brick Walkway Campaign. The brick walkway was officially named in honor of the New Balance Foundation and a large granite stone with the foundations logo is located at the head of the pathway leading families towards the lakefront.

On the heels of the previous campaigns success, in 2014 the New Balance Foundation committed to a $300,000 matching challenge called the “Go the Distance” campaign, which matched support for athletes raising money for Camp Sunshine (corresponding with the foundation’s health and wellness initiatives). Additionally, they would match new and lapsed donor contributions. The significance of the $300,000 was to help celebrate Camp Sunshine’s 30th anniversary that year.

Camp Sunshine is humbled by the long-standing partnership and the ongoing commitment of the New Balance Foundation.
