Camp Sunshine Programs Outside of Maine
As one of the only camps in the nation to focus on the entire family, and
not just the ill child, Camp Sunshine at Sebago Lake, Inc. is working
hard to expand its program in Maine to serve the many more sick children
and families in need. Yet while Camp Sunshine has made great strides
in expanding, even at full year-round occupancy, the Maine location alone
will not be able to serve the many more hundreds, or thousands, of other families
from throughout the country who qualify for its program. As the leader
in a field virtually unique to its own, Camp Sunshine must therefore
branch out to other parts of the country to meet the needs of these children
and their families.
In
furtherance of our goal to be available to every sick child and family
who qualifies for our program, in 2005 we introduced the first ever Camp
Sunshine family program outside of Maine, at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park
Camp-Resort in Warrens, Wisconsin. Since then, we have expanded the program
there, and will offer several more programs at that location in 2007, in
